Summer 2009 Plan Details
Assuming the Visitor Lodge foundation is finished by the end of Spring we will begin stacking the straw bale walls and then adding the roof to the building. The straw bale walls will be load-bearing, meaning that there will be no wooden frame supporting the roof, the weight of the roof will be carried by the straw bales themselves. The bales will be strapped down in order to pre-compress them and make sure that the walls won't move. You can see more details in the Visitor Lodge plan.
The only other project during this time will likely be the daily upkeep and harvesting of the garden.
